Detective Flaw – Epi 3 – The Best Short Crime Story

EPISODE THREE

WHEN?

To let the blood spill further, I chose to undertake the collateral damages in the room. None could be more obvious and intriguing than Timolette Koy.

“I smell a shrew”, He walked to me. “You are incapable of solving this case so killing us all is your last resort.”

“You’re not wrong”, I dance right into his hole.

“Incapability breeds answers hence the need for an exeutioner.”

“To what end”?, Commander Snowden joins in my blame. “Do you think that you’ll get a medal if you kill everyone in this room”?

“No!”, I smiled as Nubico brought me tea and two fresh laps of a chicken.

“King Tempest”, Timolette cried out. “You know how I love Jia Shu with all my heart. Why murder a girl who should have been by my side now”?

“Pity”, Nubico whispered to me. “That’s the game he’s trying to play.”

“Where were you last night”?, I shut his plea with my question.

“With my bride of course! Everyone saw me.”

“How then could you rape her on the supposed eve of your wedding”?, Nubico voiced out.

“Me”?, Timolette felt insulted.

“Yes”, he spoke without fear. “You raped her on command from her Highness.”

“Which of her Highnesses”?, Gregory wanted to be certain.

“Mrs Joanne Shu.”

“Lies my Lord”, she got up from the ground humiliated to the core.

First a fake pregnancy and now an order to rape her daughter.

“Why”?, Tempest Shu looked her with death in his eyes.

“Because…… because”, she stuttered.

“Rudervyn!”, He roared.

“I’ll speak”, Joanne covered her head in shame. “Jia wasn’t my daughter! I exchanged her with Harik’s.”

“What are you implying”?, Gregory moved closer to her.

“The truth!”, She wept heavily. “Somehow she figured it out and was on her way to tell Harik in her chambers.”

“Then you did what”?, Tempest got to his feet.

“I asked Timolette to do all he can to entice her which was futile.”

“She spoke to my face that she was in love with someone from Fucharest, a man in black”, Timolette added.

“Man in black”?, Gregory grew more suspicious of me.

“Yes I’m afraid so and nothing I could do to convince her to stay”, he knelt before the king.

As he explained simultaneously what happened that night, his story appeared before me as a book with pages which never really checked out.

**********************

(Jia: I’m in love with this man and I think the wedding should be called off.

Timolette: Not an option Jia. I know your step brother just left here with his hands soaked with blood. I could tell everyone you stabbed him out of hatred for your stepmother.

Jia: You wouldn’t dare.

Timolette: Then lie with me.)

***************************

“How stupid are you to force your own bride into sex with you on your wedding eve”, Tempest stared at him with nothing but a thirst for revenge.

“You both will die by my hands”, he grabbed Rudervyn’s knife.

As he walked to his first wife, he staggered in his steps.

“Your Majesty”, I played the victim card. His mouth oozed out blood and foam which characteristically proves that he has been poisoned.

“Gregory get the chief physician”, I ordered with that shriek in my voice.

A slight overdose of some medicine I formulated was at work but I whispered into the king’s ears.

“You’re not going to die but your body will……for the moment. Lay still as your subconscious stays in the room with us.”

“Well played”, he whispered back to me as tht smile on his face said it all.

“Is he dead”?, Timolette looked into his gruesome eyes.

“Yes he is”, I replied with a stray nod.

“If he dies, everybody dies”, Snowden pulls out his sword.

“Buffoons”, Jones Styger cackled as he was dying on his chair. “You all have no idea whom I saw stab her continuously that night.”

“Tell us what you know”, Mrs Harik Tempest begged ceaselessly.

“Never!”, He replied. “I’ll watch you all suffer knowing that I had my fun with her after Timolette raped her and left.”

“What did you do Jones”?, the rage transferred from the king into me.

“I slept with her……the exact same thing every man in Fucharest would do to a beautiful girl like that.”

“Impossible!”, Snowden growled. “You were uninvited.”

“Yes of course but she came to me for help! She wanted a vigilante with a zeal for justice”, he cackled louder.

“And you slept with her”, I wept unconsciously.

“Not only that!”, He gave me that gaze. “I watched her moan your name Detective Lloyd Flaw. I watched her beg you to come rescue her on the beach you promised you’ll both meet. Could you believe she actually thought I was your friend”?

“Jones”, my hands stood still.

“I’m not done yet”, he interrupted. “Her soft thighs were the most delicious. Driving myself through her like a pool.”

“Jones!”, My voice went lower.

“You wouldn’t believe how she crawled home after the party hoping nobody sees her”, he kept bashing out his deeds. “Flaw! Flaw! she cried. I love you Flaw!”

“Jones”, I called out the last time. “Her real mother is behind you.”

He was so outspoken that he forgot that Mrs Harik was breathing profusely on his neck. A poor woman who couldn’t believe that Jia was hers from the onset.

How evil is man that exchanging babies are done from two wives in the same household? My girl was raped by all those she felt cares about her in one night.

“This is your end”, Harik spoke into his ears as she bit him from behind.

Everyone marvelled at this gruesome dealing,…….all but me. My joy knew no bounds especially when she kept peeling his flesh and steadily hooking her entire mouth onto the same region. Those screams were priceless as he fell dead on his so-called judge’s desk.

“You!”, Mrs Harik Tempest pointed to Joanne. The latter sought to take shelter behind me but she unfortunately ran into Rudervyn like a brick wall.

“Your end”, the angry mother stood beside her indulging a knife through Joanne’s waist before she could confess who else was at play.

The stab was steady as blood sprinkled everywhere. Nubico fainted behind me as I sighted Gregory from the main entrance.

“Where is the chief physician”?, my eyes went to his blood soaked hands.

“He’s dead”, Gregory replied with his teeth crashing in on each other.

“Who killed him”?, Timolette asked with that horror in his eyes.

“I did!”, Gregory confessed. “I found him performing a ritual, one so bizarre that involved the reincarnation candles.”

“And what ritual is that”?, Snowden held his sword firmly.

“He was ma….mat…..mating with the corpse of Jia Shu.”

“Not possible”, Timolette looked at Gregory. “Jia is not dead! That disfigured person in white isn’t her.”

“What are you saying”?, I straightened my fedora.

“I knew Jia crawled home late yesternight but she fled right before I had the chance to apologize”, he kept staring suspiciously at my apprentice.

“Then why did you play this game with me that she’s dead”, Mrs Harik grabbed his cloak.

“Because Detective Lloyd Flaw asked me to”, he replied with that jolt in his heart.

“Complacency!” I laughed at my apprentice.

“You thought you were self absorbed after murdering the man who would give us the autopsy.”

“You have no idea who you’re messing with”, his true colours showed.

“Well I do…………..and it’s my turn to play the lion, you ungrateful scallywag.”
