How the journey began….
My Dad was a journalist; he and my uncle had wonderful collections of both foreign and local novels that they devoured when they were young men.
In fact when I became old enough to understand deep feelings these were the novels I devoured to please my young mind.
Mom on the other hand had a flair for reading, though her collections were not as sophisticated as my Dad and Uncle’s.
However while going through her stuff I found a book, an African folktale and this book I presume is over 50 years of age.
I fell in love with this African folktale the very day I set eyes on it and took it as my priced possession. And it is still among my collections as I speak.
Why this story? I had to begin from here so you can understand ”my passion for writing.”
Going forward, I can’t say I ever wished to live part of my life as a writer as a matter of fact, I never knew I will write for a living one day.
Even though there were days, I stumbled upon Dad during the early hours of the morning writing the News for the papers.
I never thought of following his steps, all I wanted was to become a Lawyer.
I loved to read books and that was it – no strings attached, reading was fun. The stories I read from my family’s collections and the ones I took from friends back then filled me with joy.
And if you ask me I would say those were precious times and I am glad that I experienced it.
Little did I know that one day I would become like Dad, who I used to see transcribing voices only he could hear from his little recorder to white plain papers.
I was barely 15 years of age when the desire to write struck me like lightning. I wrote my first novel, ‘’a love story,” and in 2016, I officially became a scriptwriter.
Fast forward to this date I have written over 5 hundred thousand words of scripts, and authored 4 books.
History of Inkwrit
Well, I would say inkwrit all started right from the very day I signed up for a copywriting course and group on the 16th of March 2022.
While in this group, I discovered that aspiring copywriters were struggling to write good stories for their copies.
Then I decided to put them through using the knowledge I have as a scriptwriter. And in 2023, the idea to create a platform that could bring all aspiring writers together came into reality as INKWRIT.
