Best free writing software

I’ve been writing for 10 years and one thing that has always moved my writing skills forward is certain free writing software.

Today I’m happy to share these writing software and why I use them.

I’d like you to sit back, relax, and read on because you’re about to discover some epic facts regarding this free writing software.

Best free writing software and why I use them

  1. Notepad for Android:
Best free Writing Software

Notepad is a free writing software that provides an effective note-taking solution. It was developed for Android by AsianProGamer.

As an Android user, I have found this app as one of the best creative writing aids because it helps me to…

  1. Capture inspiration instantly:

I jot down my ideas as soon as they strike, ensuring I don’t miss out on any fleeting insights.

2. Preserve ideas as they arise: By recording my thoughts immediately, I prevent them from slipping away and getting lost.

3. Build a robust idea bank: I maintain a comprehensive repository of ideas, providing me with an endless supply of concepts to draw upon whenever needed.

4. Write freely: I utilize my notepad to write freely, especially when I plan to compile notes before transferring them to Word. In fact, I started this article using my trusty notepad, allowing me to focus on the content without getting lazy to write.

5. Develop a plan: Quite often I make use of this awesome free writing software as a creative writing tool to rapidly draft a plan for future write-ups. This approach enables me to clarify my ideas, organize my thoughts, and create a roadmap for my content. By doing so, I ensure that I have a solid foundation to fall back on when needed, streamlining my writing process and enhancing overall productivity.

Though Notepad for Android was not designed to accommodate lengthy write-ups, the word limit is around 2000 however I would highly recommend this writing assistance to anyone who needs to scribble down ideas fast or carry out any of the above activities because it is simple to use, free, and intuitive.

2. WPS:

Best free Writing Software

WPS stands for Writer, Presentation, and Spreadsheets, which were the tools included in the Microsoft Works package in the past. These tools became stand-alone programs after the release of the Microsoft Office suite in later years, and they can now be downloaded onto smartphones like Android.

In 2018, when I first started receiving scriptwriting assignments, I relied on this free writing software as a content creation tool. At the time, I was unaware of the existence of software specifically designed for scriptwriting, which I will discuss in a future reveal. As a result, I utilized WPS (a writing assistance tool) to aid me in my scriptwriting.

To this day, I continue to use WPS for writing eBooks and articles, particularly because of its accessibility on my phone compared to my laptop. This convenience helps me overcome laziness and serves as a temporary storage solution for my write-ups before I transfer them to my laptop for further editing and refinement.

3. Doc(Google Doc):

This is another text-writing software I find appealing and it’s called Google Docs or doc. This a free writing software designed by Google to help you with:

1. A lifetime storage option except when you delete your documents would always be available for you.

2. Seamless collaboration, which allows you to share documents with other creators or clients.

3. Edits history tracking, tracks document changes automatically and reverts to any previous version of the document.

4. Auto-saving; as you work your document is saving automatically.

5. One of the benefits of this free writing software is its offline work mode, which allows you to access your writing space without an internet connection.

You can work on your writing projects without turning on your Wi-Fi, and the auto-save feature still functions, ensuring that your work is saved regularly, even when working offline.

4. Chatgpt:

Best free Writing Software

This is a very popular software that can virtually carry out all forms of writing, from articles, emails, case studies, and short stories,  to eBooks. I call Chatgpt my virtual partner because it’s always there to assist me in my writing endeavors. Chatgpt works with prompts you are to tell it what to do and it will process your command into results.

5.  Quillbot

Best free Writing Software

QuillBot is a reliable AI-powered paraphrasing tool that can assist with completing writing projects. Founded in 2017 by Rohan Gupta, Anil Jason, and David Silin, QuillBot offers a freemium model. While the paraphrasing tool is available for free, other features like grammar and plagiarism checkers require a premium subscription. The free version of the paraphraser also has limitations, allowing only 125 words to be paraphrased at a time. Despite these restrictions, I found QuillBot to be an exciting and user-friendly tool, making it a valuable resource for me.

Recently, WhatsApp introduced an AI feature that has left me impressed. Not only can it write text, but it also can generate AI images – a fact I discovered through a friend’s tip.
