GOD ASSASSIN(PT 2) AN ADVENTURE STORY YOU MUST LOVE
“Got to go fast”, I exclaimed bounding from tree to tree with unrelenting fervor, driven only by my quest for vengeance.
General Khonzu, a man of unyielding appetite was known to frequent a local restaurant where he indulged in copious amounts of beef and chicken. His table manners were as brutish as his demeanor, stamping his pouch of coins upon the table until his desires were sated.
“Khon—zu”, I barged into the establishment, my bloodied self striking fear into the hearts of the people. “I have come to ask you a question?”
In our dynasty, one was either an assassin or a general – I had been both. The Emperor’s power might seem insurmountable but the memory of my fallen wife fueled my resolve.
“Your sword,” I addressed the soldier, his gaze fixed upon the beef before him. “Whose blood is on it?”
Unfazed by my sudden arrival, Khonzu’s countenance exuded calmness and serenity. He removed his helmet revealing a visage similar to mine.
“Did they all perish?” he asked, a hint of amusement dancing upon his lips.
I drew my blade with deliberate slowness. “Tell me whose blood is it general?”
“A bit of everyone’s,” he replied. “We are but disposables Cryblade, pawns in the Emperor’s game.”
I struck down his servant with a swift deadly swipe. “No,” I countered. “Shogoye and Anan are indisposable to me.”
My sword agreed, whispering sweet nothings in my ear. “Feed him to me.”
“What dark whispers did it say?” Khonzu inquired, his one eye fixed upon the sword’s eerie, smoke-shrouded edge.
“It hungers for your blood,” I answered. “It craves warmth.”
The surrounding people accustomed to such violent displays watched with a blend of fear and openness.
My battle however would serve as a stark warning to the dynasty. It is for certain that no mouth would be closed when the others come for me.
Khonzu’s words then caught my attention: “We were all born and baptized in dark magic…..us generals. Do not think for a second that I don’t have my means.”
His sword adorned with his insignia seemed to display the ego of the Emperor. The beads on his neck as well emitted a similar ominous smoke from which a towering eight-foot figure sprung.
From the look of it, I swear to you that its hairless dark form were chiseled from the very shadows themselves.
“Once you engage me, Cryblade, you challenge us all,” Khonzu declared assuming a battle stance.
“For Shogoye!” I clamoured as the wind whipped my hair into my eyes.
I hastily somersaulted aiming a low blow at the general’s legs but he dodged with ease leaving me to cleave the legs from his food table instead.
“Unrefined technique,” Khonzu chided striking me with a resounding blow that sent my sword flying.
He could have ended my life then however being a general he chose to toy with me, savoring the battle like a connoisseur.
“His waist,” my sword cried, “A blade wound lay within, so fresh….so savory.”
“Retrieve his remains,” Khonzu ordered the dark entity, its presence attempting to grow more menacing by the moment.
I swiftly manoeuvred my sword and pierced the giant’s hand but it pummeled me instead with unmerciful ferocity.
“No heart,” my blade continued to pester me. “You must fight without emotion or I consume your very essence instead.”
“Wait”, I tried to catch my breath. “Heal me first.”
“Agreed”, it’s coarse self appeared on the edge staring at me with multiple pairs of eyes.
I felt light in seconds,……slicing the giant in a single deadly stroke as it leapt into the air, intent on crushing me beneath its massive frame.
“He killed it”, the onlookers gasped in terror, their faces ashen.
“Impossible!”, others were amazed.
I immediately pointed my blade at Khonzu, its blunt side now twin-edged, sated with the giant’s dark viscous blood.
“You are next!”, I growled.
Khonzu’s smirk proved deadly as he conjured my deceased wife’s head, her eyes frozen in a permanent scream.
“Shogoye!” I bellowed, my patience exhausted.
But in that moment of rage, the sword took over me. It inhabited the souls of my fallen comrades, an arsenal of darkness at my command.
“Your life is mine,” I appeared like the wind itself, devouring Khonzu from behind like a parasitic entity.
His blades clattered to the ground as he screamed in agony, his waist at my mercy. I merely expanded the gash and with a swift push, his innards spilled forth.
“Tasteful” I drank from his neck, picking up his heart and vanishing into the shadows.
“I want more blood”, the blade persisted taking me to the heart of Norgid as the terrified onlookers were left to ponder on the horror they had witnessed.
